Feathers

Sometimes you just feel like Big Bird......

MY OUTFIT:    Sweater -Forever 21. Skirt - Romy . Yellow Tights - Urban outfitters. Boots - Alloy
I have yet to actually wear these tights...have had them in my closet for about a year. I put them on and feel like Big Bird every time. But today I braved it. Does not mean I still do not feel like a big giant lovable bird!

My adorable and stylish friend Courteney showing off her creative outfit this beautiful Fall morning! She is so cute and sweet!  The Husband and I head off to Disneyland in 2 hours (well California really ) but to me everything in California is Disneyland.....even though we will be going to a wedding, knotts berry farms and other things including Disney....I just am really really looking forward to a "just him and me time"
Happy weekend and week!

Always running a little late!

My Sunday Look.

Dress- Sears, Blue Belt- Thrifted, Jean Shirt - Target, Sandals - Thrifted, Black Blazer- Thrifted

I felt very Kourtney Kardshian in this today, she always makes her simple outfits look stunning, like it took her hours to get ready but only a few min at the same time!
I have not worn my hair pulled back like these since I was 12 years old and just didn't do my hair, but now its IN! I scored this dress at Sears on my spur of the moment shopping with my 19 year old brother,  for a big ole 7.99!!! His response to it "Ya I guess its better then the other one you picked out, its really blue though" BOYS.
I had maybe 5 minutes to get ready for Church this Sunday, so I  paired it with a target jean shirt, threw a thrifted belt on and sandals I am not too sure of ,and BAM. I was actually very pleased with the entire outfit, a little out of my normal comfort zone I would stay within.

Good news my wonderful husband is home, and we are gearing up for vacation in T - 4 days!
Our puppy is experiencing her first "Rain" of the season and her life thus far, she was a little freaked out by it and now just sits by the back door and wants to look out. However when I forced her out on Sunday morning I came home to find her curled up on her bed. She had moved it under cover and had gathered her favorite toys and let them be on her bed  and made sure they were  safely out of the rain, she left the remaining toys out to get wet! I swear her personality grows daily.

Hello Yellow

Some days I get to welcome the big bright yellow/orange thing in the sky. Seeing as i live in a place that rains more days then not, when we get sun on a fall day...its like gold. We almost do not know what to do with ourselves. But no worries we did, Husband took me out on a great date day and had Mexican food and bought Grocery's and dog food from Wilco (its amazing how much date night changes when you get married and I know it will change again once we have kids) BUT It was perfect.

Floral Shirt- Consignment Store 4.99. Silk Skirt 2.00 Garage Sale. Belt Garage Sale 1.00. Shows Brown Wedges 19.99 Sale rack at DSW                           TOTAL OUTFIT: 27.98

white Sweater. Goodwill 4.99 (new with Target Tags on) Brown 3/4th sleeve shirt. Old Navy 16.99 . Yellow Forever 21 skinny's . Friend Garage Sale 2.00 . Ridding Boots. Friends Garage Sale 2.00 Hello new outfit. Total =  25.98
Both outfits are "Dressed on a Dime"

And I am learning how to "Dress on a Dime"  Here is my wise knowledge for today, I will give to you:

 1. Its okay to wear "hand me downs" ....you heard me correct!

At one point I remember hating when I had to wear my cousins or friends or even garage sale cloths, I remember worn out knees on jeans, fuzz balls on dis -colored shirts, shoes that are missing the black on the toe's or scratches on them. BUT they are not all like that, switch your thinking. You can find amazing, and I mean amazing things at consignment stores and second hand stores or from a friend. And the way you wear  it may be completly different then the way your friend wore it. It's a  money savor. I know when I go I say "Husband I saved a ton of money,  look at this shirt it was ONLY 4.99!" He catches on quick thought! :)
you can go and buy a complete outfit at say Goodwill then you could get for a single item retail price! SO if you are needing a lot of pieces for your wardrobe go, find, dig and conquer a second hand store!!!

Happy almost Weekend, husband is out of town until Sunday and I am left up to my own devices. I have an issue of staying up super late, because lets face it that's when I am the best me! I clean, I cook, I bake, I organize, I start craft projects, I decided to train our dog, I do the long over due folding and hanging up my cloths, and starting loads of laundry (good thing we have our own house now, our neighbors hated us in our apartment...well they hated me!) . Now normally husband is home to help me figure out that 11:30 is not the best time to start all these things and we go to bed, but when he is not home.....I have no gauge on what normal time is for bed. So around 1ish maybe closer to 2 I finally was sleeping. Now If you are wondering, YES PEOPLE,  Six Am comes very, very soon going to bed that late, and I think it does something to my dreams....Strange dreams, very real dreams...not the best. I hate when I wake up feeling weird from a dream. I have had a this issue since I was little, Having very real feeling dreams, where I remember them when I wake up and can remember them all day, sometimes they feel so real I think it happened. I get night terrors that I wake up man screaming (because I lack the ability to scream like a girl) to and can remember them, its all very weird. So I say all of that to say....it may be a long day today for little ole' Nicole .

Thursday Awkward and Awesome

Awkward and Awesome.

Awkward

- Taking my (fake) Niece to Starbucks this morning, I may have straightened her hair , got her a mini Starbucks cup of apple juice and a treat and she looked just like me, and all these older moms gave me the stink eye. I am thinking its because I look like I am 15 and she is 4 and they are trying to do the math (thinking I am her mom)  I think I need to get use to this because although I found a whole lot of wrinkle lines when I smile and gray hair yesterday I am destined to look like a teenager!
- Wrinkle lines....Yes lets chat about that. Was getting ready for church last night and was studying my self in the mirror, Husband made me laugh and I saw myself laughing.......There they were, plan as day, and sadly I think I am the last to know, and see them. My wrinkles (big Sigh) I strangely felt my age for a second...and not 19 any more. Not a fun feeling.
- Finding gray hair . My hair dresser says it stress because its not true graying...but then lets think about that for a second. What in the world am I stressing about so much that its causing me to have gray hair and how do I stop...then that stress me out and I swear I feel another one popping up or sprouting up like weeds. Thank the Dear Lord for hair dressers!
- Learning how to sew.....and realizing I am not so good at it. I got a jam up of thread and now can not get it re-loaded......I think I need my moms help. Also I have already got my finger stuck and punctured by the needle...oh boy,  "I want to do what? design and sew cloths" I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Monday Outfit. Shirt- H&M , Belt -Thrifted. Pants- American Eagle, boat Shoes- Thrifted, Dog- Courtesy of Rosco the blood hound  and a lab named Lucy....Priceless.

Awesome

-Today my mamma and I are headed out for a beach, shopping adventure. Much needed quality time with her and plus CLOTHS SHOPPING
 - Going out with a group of about 30 to see the new movie "the Help" and have some Fro-yo. What a great adventurous day for me. Then crying my eyes out at the movie - not sure if that should have gone on the awkward post but oh well. Some scene's in movies just hit a little to close to home, no I have never had a maid (sorry for any confusion in that last sentence)
- We get to leave for an entire week...which we have not done since our honeymoon and head over to eastern Oregon to see Jim and Kathy! Forecast : SUNNY in the upper 90's and NO chance of rain. That means this girl will be out side soaking up every ounce (not sure if you can measure in ounces the amount of sun you get?!) of sun I can get. I am expecting great color and relaxation this next week. And they are excited to see Elliott, who will be making the trip with us!
- Only 41 days until we are off to Disneyland!!!!!!
Sweater- Ann Taylor (from Sarah Closet, garage sale) , White shirt- American Eagle, Leggings - Nordstroms, Sandals -Target , Watch - Nordstroms
Happy Thursday, may your day be filled with A LOT of Awesome and not so much the Awkward.

Parenthood.

Webster defines this as:
v. par·ent·ed, par·ent·ing, par·ents
v.tr.
1. To act as a parent to; raise and nurture: "
2. To cause to come into existence; originate.
v.intr.
To act as a parent.

Any Parent would define it as:
Sleepless nights, midnight and 3 am bathroom breaks and feedings, play time that goes on and on, constant schedule, feedings and naps around the clock, teaching, training, learning, love, gratification, constant "No's" "Stop" "don't eat the shoes"  "don't chew on the curtains and floor" "put my cloths down". ... okay so maybe most normal parents to actual babies do not say the last few things!

We have almost hit the 2 week mark with our sweet puppy Elliott. I am not going to lie, the first week was HARD and challenging. There were potty accidents and 3 times up a night, she hates going in her doggy den to sleep, but sleeps just fine in our bed for a nap or on the floor with all 4 paws spread out. BUT HATES HER DEN! When we got her she was so little and basically a baby. Now she is turning into a toddler puppy. She chews, and plays with everything, she is sleeping through the night now, that is a BLESSING. . that means mom and dad are sleeping through the night and getting "adult time" But what that really means is , Training begins!!!

The day we picked her out...only 3 weeks ago....she was so little.
Tired baby after her bath....slept for 4 hours like this

Day 1 of having her.

Chase playing with her. She LOVES kids

discovering our backyard

she loves cuddling with her daddy

Her "puppy" is almost bigger then her!

playing and meeting uncle Jeff

that old saying "when baby naps, parents nap" Its true with dogs too!

*please forgive the lack of make up and normal hair....It was a long drive home!

We left her for the weekend with Aunt Noelle and Uncle Isaac and she was so happy to be home !

please do not be deceived, I know there are a lot of pictures on here of her sleeping but she is awake and into everything too! But on a serious  note, I couldn't imagine not having her, I have turned into a dog person and we lover her so much. She is our baby until we have babies and will be in our family for a long long time!

We just got back from Seattle, what  a great Britt Family vacation

Jake, Cason, Jaxon, Sophia, Ellison, and Auntie Cole

sweet Baby Cason Thomas

My adorable Nephew Oliver James

I went for comfy this weekend, that and it being 62 degrees and cloudy made for a long sleeve and pants kind of weekend. I got 2 new outfits at H&M...ohhh how I love that store, this jean shirt (feels like I am wearing nothing- comfortable) and a floral skirt. Then a cute blue button down over sized shirt and leggings.

The sisters : Sarah , Nicole, Sheena , Jenn

Our entire Brittingham Family

Prints and Stripes.....

We will be parents in T- 24 hours....We are as ready as we will ever be. A trip to Petco and a quick on line study of "How to successfully Crate Train your dog" lecture and BAM she is coming. Husband is going to be training and spending good quality time with her in the morning while he works from home. I have a feeling that he may start leaving earlier then he use to. :) I do not blame him! potty training a dog can be very irritating.  We went out to dinner with some great friends that are stationed over in Augusta, Georgia. We ended up going to this little restaurant called "The Farm" and it resemble a farm, its a huge hit, people flock to it. On our way home a car in front of us swerved off the road to see "GOATS" .......ordinary little goats in a field. .. I could not stop laughing and almost peed my pants, we have them in bulk in our town! I love that i can literally drive 40 min and be in a big city where farm animals are non-existence and that people name their fine restaurant "The Farm"Ohhh silly big town.

Cant wait to show off my new shirts I just got....I am weeks behind in my posting pictures and in my running....oh boy I need to step it up.
